Notes on notes

15:47 Nov 20 2005

As an observation of my own behavior, I find it interesting that when I’m writing notes for apiece, I rarely write two subjects on one page.

Instead, I choose to turn the page. And, it doesn’t matter that I’ve pnly wriiten either a few lines, or a couple of paragraphs, I still do the same.

I still turn that page.

It’s as if turning that page is a metaphor for that fresh thought, waiting to be expressed.

As an addendum on these notes on writing notes, it could also be observed how annoying it is when one loses just one page, out of a sequence.

Further, it could also be ‘noted’ that at the end of writing a piece in Word, keep pressing ‘cntl S’ because the day you don’t, you can virtually guarantee that you end up regretting your lack of forethought.

tenth November

I learnt on Wednesday that my work contract has been extended ~ which had been pleasing to hear, on a busy, messy runaround day, which had included up till then disappointment and annoyance.

Then on Thursday, my birthday, I had taken liquors and Belgium chocolate truffles in.

Most people take cakes in on their birthday for their colleagues to munch on.

I had taken in what I like ~ liquors and Belgium chocolate truffles.

After ghosting the image of the software we use onto six p.c.’s; counting serial no’s; and, then moving a heavy locker on a one-man trolley; then an even heavier locker; I had gone home, dropped off my bag and then gone to voluntary work.

At the project, Roger was verbally abused and threatened by a real troublemaker; sporting a light ‘tache and goatee; wearing a red nylon zip-up jack and blue trackie bottoms.

He had hammered on the door for a good ten minutes or so issuing his threats after we had closed the project up early.

I’d felt quite intimidated and gawd knows how the other volunteers will be about it!?!

The police had been called and quoted a response time of ten minutes to half an hour.

I don’t know what’ll happen about the project.

At home, Simon had phoned to wish me a happy birthday; and tell me about his interview on Monday with the dole, which he’d seemed really pleased about. It’d been good to hear him sounding so positive.

Prior to going out I went to the trouble of cleaning my teeth thoroughly using bicarbonate of soda, which I also used to de-nicotine my fingers… It’s got so many uses that stuff… crumbs, the week before I was using it to dry up a spot.

And yes, even at 46 one still gets the odd one, it seems.

Friday evening, Simon, took Mandy and I to The Hotel California in his ‘new’ motor, to see a Blondie sound-alike band, Heart Of Glass.

He hadn’t drunk, as he’d been driving. I had drunk, a tad too much and I’d had to leave early, unfortunately.

Definitely a... different birthday.
